Learnin' and laughin'

I just finished up the first of a few seminars I've got scheduled this year and I am sooo jazzed! I learned a lot and had so much fun hanging out with some of the funniest people I know! I have a whole new arsenal of things to improve each and every photo session.

I am working on several new specials that will be released soon! One for Highschool Seniors and one for anyone wanting to have their own "Next Top Model" type experience.

Spring fever!!

I was out an about the other day and notice these little guys growing like crazy in my neighbor's yard. I rushed back home grabbed my camera and took a few quick photos. This is just one of them. Hopefully this adds a little cheer to your day (they were just the little pick-me-up I needed at the time).

I love spring time! The flower blooming, birds singing (it makes all the rain we're about to start getting bearable) :D I'll be going to the Woodburn Tulip Festival again this year (I missed last year). In a few weeks there will be many more springtime photos for your viewing pleasure!

A whole year in just 5 hours

Well we managed to cram a whole year into about 5 hours on my most recent photo shoot. Let me explain (and no I haven't lost my mind) :-).... Remember my post about a Calendar Girl? (this is where the "whole year" came from) Last Saturday we had the session (finally), it was a longer than normal session because we were dealing with a whole year's worth of photos. Lindsay did a fantastic job (modeling is harder than you think it is and a 5 hour session is a lot). Lindsay is a natural with a great look and attitude, a combination that makes my job easy.

Love is in the air

And the summer wedding season is quickly approaching. I have been busy talking with Brides and Grooms about their upcoming weddings and must say that hearing about their love story and finding out some of the details of their wedding brings out the romantic in me (which isn't hard to do because I'm a hopeless romantic at heart).

I love my job! I get to be part of the one of the happiest days in my clients life. Everyone looks fantastic, everyone is happy to be there and there's a wonderful party. It's good to be me!

As St. Valentine's Day approaches I wish you all the love, laughter and happiness your hearts can hold and then a little more for good measure.

Signing up for more classes

This is the time of year that I sort out what classes and seminars I'll be attending throughout the year and I always get so excited. This year the photographers I will be working with & learning from are amazing. They are award winning and highly respected by their peers (and I get watch them in action, ask them questions, take notes and just absorb as much of their wisdom as possible). Basically, they are my idols.

Attending classes and seminars keeps me current on new trends in digital photography and helps me continually improve and expand what I can do with my camera. Plus it's another excuse for me to talk photography and take photos (like I really need another excuse huh?) :-)

The biggest character and one of the biggest sweethearts

This is Madison - perhaps one of the biggest characters I've ever met crammed into the tiniest of packages. She is fearless and very matter of fact. If she didn't live in Colorado, we would have a whole portfolio in no time.


This is Brooke - she has one of the biggest hearts I've ever known to be in an 8 year old. She's a natural in front of the camera too. The last time I saw Brooke she was barely standing on her own and was just starting to take some wobbly steps. She has grown into a beautiful young lady.

Almost Baseball Season again!

Those of you that have spent any time around me & my family know that baseball is "the" sport around our house. Cody loves the game and is doing something baseball related all year (spring, summer and fall teams and winter is the indoor hitting league).

This weekend is registration weekend for Reynolds Little League (at Godfathers on Cherry Park - it's our traditional location for registrations). If you have kids that are interested in baseball - come by and sign them up for the 2009 spring season. Saturday from 3 - 7pm and Sunday from 1 - 5pm.

I've been a member of the Reynolds Little League board of directors for 5 years now and must say our league is fortunate to be filled with wonderful volunteers and families!

There are some changes coming to the baseball photos this year -- I'm going back to the traditional team photo instead of the composite we've done for the last 2 years. This will pose a challenge to make sure the whole team is there for picture day but I think the coaches will like it. :)
