The biggest character and one of the biggest sweethearts
This is Madison - perhaps one of the biggest characters I've ever met crammed into the tiniest of packages. She is fearless and very matter of fact. If she didn't live in Colorado, we would have a whole portfolio in no time.
This is Brooke - she has one of the biggest hearts I've ever known to be in an 8 year old. She's a natural in front of the camera too. The last time I saw Brooke she was barely standing on her own and was just starting to take some wobbly steps. She has grown into a beautiful young lady.

Almost Baseball Season again!
Those of you that have spent any time around me & my family know that baseball is "the" sport around our house. Cody loves the game and is doing something baseball related all year (spring, summer and fall teams and winter is the indoor hitting league).
This weekend is registration weekend for Reynolds Little League (at Godfathers on Cherry Park - it's our traditional location for registrations). If you have kids that are interested in baseball - come by and sign them up for the 2009 spring season. Saturday from 3 - 7pm and Sunday from 1 - 5pm.
I've been a member of the Reynolds Little League board of directors for 5 years now and must say our league is fortunate to be filled with wonderful volunteers and families!
There are some changes coming to the baseball photos this year -- I'm going back to the traditional team photo instead of the composite we've done for the last 2 years. This will pose a challenge to make sure the whole team is there for picture day but I think the coaches will like it. :)

Calendar girl! This is going to be so much fun!!!
Today I met with Lindsay and her mom to discuss a fun present for Lindsay's boyfriend. We are going to put together a calendar for him with a different theme for each month. With the ideas we've discussed I already know this is going to be a fantastic photo session and we're going to have a blast!
Call or email me if you think you might want to put a calendar together for your someone special too! We can come up with a years worth of themes that are meaningful to you to make a wonderful custom calendar.

Photo trip around Portland
Today I had a fantastic time hanging out with my great friends Becky & Gregg, their son Kersey and his girlfriend Olivia. Kersey had a homework assignment for his photography class to take black and white urban photos. When I found out they were going around Portland, I was excited to tag along. I've always wanted to take a night photo of Portland with the river in the foreground.
We had an interesting day - it was cold (the kind of cold that chills you to the bone), there was a protest in Pioneer Square (and actually I think there were 2 protests mingled together because the boycott some people were chanting about didn't match up with the flags, signs and message from the bigger rally going on), and I saw 2 of the most expensive cars I think I've ever been that close to before. Did I mention it was cold?? :-)
I'll be posting more of the photos from around Portland in the portfolio section of my website soon (after I finish up the Girls Weekend photos). In the meantime, I hope you like what I posted here. Oh and those cars have the same name as a flower. I'll let you sort out which flower. :-)

A quick update
Just wanted to give a quick update on what's been going on this week.
I've been working on photos I took last weekend of some beautiful ladies (the photos are going to be Valentine's photos for their husbands). Because of the nature of these photos there won't be any sneak peeks posted here. I'm still going through the photos but the ones I've finished so far look fantastic (ladies, your men are gonna flip when they get these photos!)
It doesn't matter if you're in your 20's or your 50's, if you're lean & slender or more "squishy" like me, this is a great unique gift that will make your sweethearts jaw drop and his heart skip a beat. Give me a call or send me an email if you are interested in having a Glamour session of your own.
Take care all and I Hope everything is going well with all of you and your families!

Almost forgot - Cody's 16th Birthday Cake
Ever get that feeling that you're forgetting to do something? I've had that feeling for a little while now (ok 2 weeks) and it just dawned on me ... I didn't post any photos of Cody's birthday cake. My baby boy is now 16 and licensed to drive. (boy is that hard for me to say). ;-)
This ultra cool cake was created by Chris Fountain from SnazzyCakes in Portland (www.snazzycakes.com).
Chris creates beautiful wedding cakes, grooms cakes, birthday cakes and any sort of cake you need. I highly recommend the lemon cake with the raspberry filling -- YUMMMY!

New Year - New Website too
I can't believe it's 2009 already - where the heck did 2008 go? Most of it was just a blur. Since we've started a new year it's only fitting that I launch my new website today too. If you haven't seen it already, please go take a look: www.mwphotos.com
Now that the work is done on the new website, I sit here thinking of all the possibilities that 2009 has to offer I also reflect on the whirlwind that was 2008. All in all it was a great year, I met a lot of wonderful people, made new friends, worked hard and had a lot of fun too.
I wish 2009 be full of the very best of life for you and your families!
Take care!
